Why Axe Throwing?Ace Axes brings axe throwing as a popular and exciting activity; as both a competitive sport and as a recreational activity. Axe throwing is a great stress reliever as well as being lots of fun. Since it is technique as opposed to strength that is required, axe throwing is an experience that can be enjoyed by everyone aged 12 years and over.

Who can do Axe Throwing?The minimum age to take part is 12 years old. Anyone taking part under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please remember axe throwing is a physical activity and will require a degree of mobility and strength. Participants with back or neck injuries are excluded from taking part. If you have a injury or disability which you think may affect your experience, please inform your instructor.

How does a session work?Book a session online for a small group (up to 5 people), medium (6 9 people) or a larger group (10 - 12 people). We can cater for larger groups and parties too - just get in touch and we can provide a tailored quotation. Our sessions start with a safety briefing from our professionally trained instructors. Once the safety has been covered we move on to teaching you the correct stance and throwing motion. Once you have mastered hitting the target we will teach you more advanced techniques designed to improve your aim so you can get that all important bulls eye!

What should I wear?It is essential for participants’ safety that closed toed shoes are worn. No sandals or high heels. Trainers are ideal. Comfortable clothing with no hoods or loose clothing, full length trousers and if it’s cold lots of thin layers work best as the lanes are outside, but you soon get warm with the energy of throwing the axes!

What are the rules?Daventry Miniature Race Cars reserve the right to cancel an individual or persons booking without refund if our instructors believe an individual or persons physically unable and unfit to take part in the activity. Due to the nature of the activity no alcohol or drugs shall be consumed prior to the axe throwing activity - but once the experience is over, feel free to purchase drinks from our bar! Intoxication from alcohol / drugs is strictly prohibited; participants suspected of being under the influence will be excluded from activities. All participants may be required to sign a liability waiver acknowledging the inherent risks of axe throwing. This is decided per event. Every participant is responsible for the safety of themselves, other throwers and spectators. Participants should be aware that any projectile may bounce back and cause injury. Photography is permitted of people within your social group and we would love you to share your photos with us so we can use them on our social media.

Can I add more people to my booking?Yes absolutely, if you've already made a booking and have any late changes to the number of people who want to come, you can simply add them to the booking for an additional £20 per person, payable on arrival.
